Cancer Screening
Dr. Mitrofan performs free-of-charge a visual cancer screening of the oral soft tissues of all of his patients. This habit goes in line with his general philosophy of preventing rather than repairing. Prevention and early detection are key factors in the fight agains oral cancers. When pathology is suspected, he will refer the patient to an oral surgeon or other specialist for further evaluation, diagnosis and treatment. Also, Dr. Mitrofan is very proactive in discussing with patients about smoking cessation and about quitting other habits that can lead to oral and systemic pathologies.
